- In almost all motorcycle accidents, bike driver died due to head injury. Life could have been saved if the driver would have used helmet.
- Many of the tractor drivers are either novice or do not have much experience in driving. They do not pay attention while turning or road crossing.
- On NH4, most of the accidents occurred due to over speeding, drunken driving, driving on the wrong direction, pedestrian crossing the road without precaution, bullock carts in the night time, parking trucks on the road during night without indicator or other precaution etc.
- To avoid accidents in night time Tractor/bullock cart owners are advised to have proper reflective sheeting or indicators on their vehicle/cart.
- To infuse respect for traffic rules and safe driving, Haveri district police have booked 17,897 traffic rule violation cases in year 2009, 25,701 cases in 2010, 29,854 cases in 2011 and 12,200 cases in current year so far.
Nice to know that death rate has been appreciably reduced. Thanks to Haveri Police.
